Catch the tail end of the winter season and join us at Robson Square in downtown Vancouver where you can do outdoor ice skating in the middle of the concrete jungle.
Don’t know how to skate? No problem. There are skating aids/trainers for you to hold on to while trying to walk or glide. And we have a couple of volunteers who can give you some hints about skating.
Don’t have skates? No worries either. There are skate rentals for $5 per person (tax included).
Don’t want to skate at all? It’s ok too! You can come and waddle beside the ice rink to cheer others on while chit chatting with us.
So, bring your adventurous spirit and join us for a fun morning.
(If you have your own skates, don’t forget to bring them.)
💰費用:Participant will pay for his/her own ice skates rental ($5 including tax). There is no admission fee to the ice rink. (https://www.robsonsquare.com)
Itinerary:
10:30am: Meet at Robson Square Ice Rink (skate rental)
10:35am until when we think we have enough skating.
Then we return our skates, walk around downtown (towards BC Place Stadium) and find something to fill our hungry stomachs! Participants are welcome to join the group for lunch and are responsible for their own lunch expenses.
Note that Feb 21-23 is “Vancouver Sevens” (similar to Hong Kong’s 香港國際七人欖球賽) and Vancouver Sevens is known for its costume party!! So our walk towards BC Place Stadium should allow us see a lot of “cows”, “Marios” etc. Check out these articles about Vancouver Sevens: https://vansevens.com/costume-inspo/ and https://buff.ly/3E5jrEu.

Vancouver Kaifong Association is a registered not-for-profit organization in British Columbia, aiming at connecting Hong Kong newcomers and helping them become true Hong Kong-Canadians by organizing different low-cost or even free events for Kaifongs each year.
Your donations are of paramount importance to us. As a 100% volunteer-led organization, we have no paid staff; every member of our team dedicates their time and skills purely out of passion for our community. This means that every dollar you give goes directly toward making an impact.
Because we do not rely on permanent government funding, your contributions are vital to keeping our doors open. These funds are used to:
Secure Venues: Providing safe and accessible spaces for cultural workshops, social gatherings, and community meetings.
Cover Essential Costs: Managing necessary overheads such as insurance, website maintenance, event equipment, and workshop materials.
Expand Outreach: Allowing us to plan a wider variety of events that strengthen the bond between Hong Kong newcomers and the local community.
